I came across chainmaille jewellery only this year and so far I really enjoy working with it. I am discovering new weaves daily and have even come up with one of my own which I shall be showcasing soon, I hope you will keep an eye out for that one.
Living Memory for me is so personal and it gives me the ability to make something so personal for any occasion. I am also working on a catalogue which will be available soon with all the charms and such I work with and can get to ensure that these pieces are one offs just for you.
Jewellery making in general I have been doing for a while and it is something I love. I started with beaded items on wire, making personalised bracelets for friends. I then went further in and worked with different mediums and made some amazing little bits that I am very proud to have in my portfolio. For me every day is a learning curve, if something doesn’t work put it down come back to it or put it down, take it apart and start again either way something comes out of a pile of rings, charms and other bits, it’s kind of like magic. I never know what the finished product will be until my equipment is put down and I sit back and have a look at it.
How about a little about me? Well I have a cat, Joey, who is the pride and joy of my life and loves playing with long threads, that gets a little annoying at times! I love music, my favourite band since I was 8 is New Kids On The Block and I have been lucky enough to meet them, have them wear my jewellery and like it. I have also had Danny Wood’s breast cancer foundation Remember Betty fully approve on of my bracelets - BETTY bracelet in aid of Remember Betty. I have decided to give all profits for this bracelet to the foundation so I hope you will check it out.
